The goal of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation funded project in the area of microsystems technology for in vitro test systems is the creation of a micro heart valve on a chip model for the investigation of heart valve disease.
This project is focused on the creation of the microfluidic heart valve chip. The creation of the biological heart valve tissue is led be the Schenke-Layland lab. Together, they we will create a heart valve on a chip for the elucidation of the mechanisms involved in heart valve disease.
